I would like to use a small MP3 player with the audio input jack for our on-hold music. The MP3 player recharges via a USB port. Will the USB port on the BCM50 charge an MP3 player?

BCM50 - Will the USB port keep MP3 Player charged

it should,if you use a power only connection and not the data
if i recall correctly the bcm will try to run any usb drive plugged in but if you use the power pins only (you should be able to get one from the source)
it will just use the 5 volts
