I just did a clean installation of Vista yesterday. I installed the Dell Broadband 440x driver from the website. I have also updated the BIos.

My system hangs during startup and the network connection takes about 3 minutes to connect. There are about 6 of these errors after startup.

Dell is refusing to help, even though everything I have googled points to them and their drivers.

Other than starting all over again with yet another installation of Vista, is there anything else I can check?

Do you have the same error and hang if you boot to "Safe Mode with Networking"?

I take it that after the initial hang and error message the Internet connection works correctly?

Is this BCM42RLY service listed in Services and if you right-click on the actual item in Services and access the Properties, are there any Dependant Services listed that maybe causing the problem?

Prior to the clean install, was this service a problem or this error message apparent?
