I am very new to BCA and the client I am at is having a lot of issues with it. I am hoping that someone can help me try and figure these out. Business Objects Support is really slow at getting back to me and my client is starting to get impatient. We are using Business Objects 5.1

One of the issues is that when we try to multi-thread reports it causes the Database to crash. WE can thread 2 reports at a time but anymore and the database crashes. The database has plenty of resources and we know that it should be able to handle the jobs. Any suggestions?

Also the client wants a way to get very detailed error messages. I could not find a log file anywhere of BCA and the processes that it runs so maybe I am missing something. Also They want to get a pager notifcation when an error has occured. Is there a way to do this?

One more. When we put a report on hold and then take it off of hold, the report goes to the next scheduled time to run, instead of running right than and there. Is there a way to make it run right when we take it off of hold. And when a report turns into delayed Execution, it kicks BCA off, but the report and BCA become idle for about 15 minutes. It does not do anything. Do we have a configuration setting off?

If anybody could give me any help with any of these issues that would be great.
Thanks

We hae BCA running one report at a time. We can add one more report so that we have two reports running simultaneously. But I would like to have about 10 running at the same time. This has been crashing the Database when I try to set that up.

Do you have the same problem with interactive BO use?

BO doesn't talk directly to the database, so it's unlikely that BO is the problem. This sounds like a middleware issue.

The only thing I can think of would be the connection types. Can you describe your connection strings?
