hi all,

i work with dreamweaver all the time, and do a good bit of customization of it. to package extentions for the extentions packager, you need to use a .mxi file. BBEdit 6 syntax colors XML files (thank god) dreamweaver uses its fair share of XML. the "mxi" file is an XML document, but the extention must be .xmi for the packaging app to make the resulting .mxp file. dont worry about the proccess, i am just trying to get BBEdit to recognize this .mxi file for what it is, and XML file.

i added both the Extention Manager, and Extention Packer to the File Types pane of the preferences. this was not the solution, i still get black code.

BBEdit will not color code the code even tho it is XML. now if i rename the file with .xml it will, obviously, color code the text. this is anoying however when i have to rename it as an .mxi file to package it. this proccess gets to be a pain as i am trying new things with extentions, and continuously editing this installer script file. (maybe the feature does not exist) but i can see other uses for BBEdit color coding text of other files that do not have .xml on them.

if you know how i can make BBEdit think that a .mxi file is a XML file so it is color coded as such please let me know.

thanks Ken Edwards
