battery not holding charge

It is not surprising for a new battery to only hold about 30 mins charge. When you get a new battery it is very important that you follow the correct charging procedure. Fully charge the battery, then discharge it at least 2 times. After this you should be able to fully charge the battery. This procedure should also be followed every 3-6 months.
If you followed the procedure above then there is one of two problems, 1) Faulty Battery - Return for a replacement, 2) Faulty Charger - Return Laptop to be checked.
