Batch File question

I figured this'd be the most appropriate place to ask this: Is there a way I can run a program from a batch file and not have the batch file hang until the program it called has finished executing? I just want that batch window to go away as soon as possible and it never does until the program it calls closes. Any ideas of suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (^_^)
