All:

I am trying to come up with a batch file or logon script that will allow me to scandisk and defrag all my user machines at a particular time and day.

I have taken over a network set up by someone else, we do not have norton ghost in place and the prior network admin never set up scheduler on the individual machines to run scandisk and defrag.

The problem I am running into is when writing a batch file it wont run scandisk/checkdisk without having ownership of the drive so it wants to reboot and run at reboot. I can get the machine to shut down using the shutdown.exe file but I cannot then figure out how to log back into the network which is needed to then run another script to defrag.

I know their has to be an easier way to do this because this seems like a real dumb way to approach it.

Please slap me around and tell me what I am missing here.

Setting up task scheduler on individual machines at this time is not a viable option.

Screach.....the sound of your world coming to an end at the sight of the dreaded BSOD!
