I use rras and nat.
de demand dial router is getting every an another ip.
so i am forced to let the dns server listen to all. I don't like that.
How do give the rras a fixed ip

I really think this is very basic but i could not find it

thanks in advance

Thanks.

The issue's there are know and all is working fine.
I've read all the relevant faq's and the books i have. I seems so simply but i can't find it

I only want the demand dial interface to use the same ip each time.

In the link that I posted Item number 3 under Demand dial internet configuration explains how to do that.

Do we misunderstand?

under step 3 i get a fixed public ip right?
no problem i have that.

I want that the demand dial interfaxe is using all the time te same internal ip instead of 192.168.0.x

So i can force the dns to listen only to the local ip's
That is all i need right. The forward is resolving the public ip's.
I hope te gain more security and a better performing system

see the dns faq on this forum quote:

"First look in the DNS records and delete any host (A) records for your server that has a public address.
In DNS Manager, right-click the DNS Server object, and then click Properties. Click on the interfaces tab.
Under Listen On, select Only the following IP addresses.
Type the addresses of only your internal network cards."

Hey, if is about the issue were I aleready answered you ( connection ADSL,.. and demand-dial routing) then you cannot have a fixed IP address since you have a dialup connection to an ISP provider.
You have to ask your ISP provider for giving you a fixed address. Sometimes it is possible even in dial-up connections.

As about how this is influencing your DNS settings, I don't know what you are saying. It has nothing to do wwith DNS.
Your internal DNS has to point to a DNS server from your provider (using forwarding feature).
As about the name/address of that server, you have to use the internal IP address for it.
And, don't forget, go to TCP/IP properties on your remote connection and disable register this connection addres in DNS.
