I had training on the IPO way back when it was on version 3.

I have put in new 6.0 system a few years ago.

Can someone please post a brief overview on what I need put into the ARS, Shortcodes, and User Short Codes?

System Overview: Newest version of IPO version 8. The client has a full PRI with 40 or so numbers. We are looking for each user to send different outgoing caller id.

I just need a refresher on the [9]N; and the Nsi and the outgoing CLI. What needs to be in the ARS and short codes in terms of secondary dial tone.

Thanks.!

Nothing is needed beyond the default settings. If you have an entry in the Incoming Call Route (ICR) that is a full telephone number (TN) then that TN will be sent anytime the user makes an outbound call on a PRI. DO NOT EVER create ICR with only the routing digits, always put in the entire TN.

So, the main problem I have is we are using new DIDs for the incoming call route for each user. The exisiting numbers are going to go to hunt groups. Its the incoming hunt groups numbers that the users need to use for their outgoing caller id.

So I think I will need to put in some sort of short code for each user.

Thanks.

WOW what a pain in the arse. Well you can just about throw everything you learned in your 3.x class out the window. Forget about [9] and you'll never again use a ; in a user nor system short code. These were outdated several versions ago, before your 6.0 install in fact.

Are you lucky enough to have the extensions match any part of the old DIDs?

The extensions don't really match.

This may be a pain, but it really will help this company function much much more efficiently.

So, can someone please post the code to go into the user short code so I can make this happen?

I just want to make sure I get this working correctly the first time around.

Thanks so much for the help!!!!

Well then you are in for some work.

You COULD do it using user short codes such as
9N; Dial3K1 NSi<TN> where <TN> is the DID (i.e. NSi3035551212)
But the fact that you have a ; in the user short code causes funky delays in other things

I would suggest instead, but this is just me.
Create a unique ARS table for each user
N; Dial3K1 NSi<TN>

Then create a user short code in each user that points 9N (no ;) to that appropriate ARS table.

Creating the ARS per extension seems to be the easiest method.

I will give that a try.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions or tips?

Thanks.

I don't see how to select the ARS in the user short code. Thanks.

It is in the Line field.

why not one ARS with N dial N and user shortcodes?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Indeed, no need for an ARS for every user, send number settings in user shortcodes are honoured within ARS unless you overwrite it :)

But again as I said, which our good friends across the pond wouldn't know because I do not believe they use the dial delay time. If you put a short code under the user which has a ; it will cause a delay in everything you dial.

I never use a ; under user shortcodes.
It is not needed.

BAZINGA!

So, we stand at putting just a short code into each user telling the system what their outgoing CID will be.

So:
Code: 9N
Feature: Dial3K1 (For a pri)
Number: NSi202xxxxxxx
Line: 0 (For PRI)

So just change up that number for each users outgoing CID?

Also, do I need to put a short code in for the secondary dial tone when a user just hits 9.

Thanks.

It would be here as we do not use count in the US. Thus the delay timer, initiated by ; is required to figure if the user is dialing an extension or a 7, 10 or 11 digit number.

I am on site now and starting to test out the programming.

How does my above look?

Should the ARS have dial3k1 for all of the short codes?

Right now when I hit 9, it says busy.

Looks like I'm missing a basic short code somewhere just to get things started.

Thanks.

Sorry to be acting like such a newbie!

Well 9=busy is not good. Can you post Monitor?

I know I'm just missing one or two basic ARS short codes or normal short codes.

Maybe I messed up the actual users short code.
