Hi Folks.
I installed a win XP Pro in a compaq Presario R3000; i nstalled all the drivers but i still can't find the driver for "Base System Device" in Device mgr, so guys if yo have any clue, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

This is genericly a driver for the Cardbus/PCMCIA slot and/or Smart Card Reader.

From the Web:
got the same problem with a Compaq Presario R3000 and tried installing chipset drivers no no avail. After reading the above post about memory card reader drivers I installed the driver for "Texas Instruments PCI (TI-PCI) 1520 and 1620 Cardbus Controller (Media Card Reader)" from even though this laptop does not appear to have a memory card reader (perhaps a creative person could add one as the mobo appears to have the chip to run it).

This should work for all Presario R3000 series notebooks or any pc with the TI-PCI 1520 or 1620 chipset. For others try installing the drivers for a memory card reader for your laptop or a similar model laptop from the same manufacturer.
