Hi all,

I am displaying barcode picture in a report file. I use CR 8.5 and delphi RDC.

Inorder to show Barcode in CR , I first create a Barcode BMP using a Delphi component. Then I create a ADO Recordset with a BLOB field and insert this barcode picture in this recordset.I set the recordset for the report during runtime.

When I view and print the report in Windows Xp, the Barcode picture look perfect and the barcode reader is able to scan the barcode.

But when i use the same report and delphi exe in Windows NT and same printer as i used in Windows Xp, the barcode picture looks different(I has additional dark lines in the beginning which is not present in actual barcode picture)and the barcode reader is not able to scan the barcode.

I have same problem with windows 2000 also.

Can any one help me to find out where i make mistake... Is this problem related with printer driver or printer setting or some other thing..???

Awaiting for your replies

Thanks in advance

Sounds like DB drivers for XP and NT process BLOB differently. Try looking for the latest NT driver.

hi,

I saved the picture from the BLOB stream to a bmp file. It resembles the orginal picture but when i view in the report its different.

Does each machine have the same printer drivers?

Could be printer drivers, display driver, or the barcode font rendering.

Does look differently mean it prints differently, or it's visually different?

I pretty sure CR prints differently depending on the installed print drivers.
Install the same print drivers on each machine to see what happens,
is that possible?

good luck
