Bandwidth estimates for remote Notes users

Does anyone have results they would be willing to share on analysis of Notes WAN bandwidth requirements where there is no local server ? Just looking for ballpark figures on throughput requirement per average Notes user assuming messages sent/received on demand. Alternatively, what is the overhead on a 300 byte text message, excluding TCP/IP headers ?<br>
