My Financial Director is driving me crazy with this one. He uses Excel all day, and doesn't know, so why he thinks I can help is a good question!
Anyway, when he selcts a range of cells in Excel 2003, he used to have an indicator in the bottom right hand corner of the selction, showing the dimensions of the selection, something like (c:20, r:10), which would translate into 20 columns, 10 rows. Now, he's done something, so that the size/dimensions no longer appear. Hope one of the Excel gurus on here knows an answer to this.
Many thanks in advance

I believe it was trimmed down in later versions to when you go off the screen, with the thinking being if you are still on the same screen and not scrolling you can just look at see where you started from. I think this was upgraded after 2000, but may have been after XP (2002).

Zack,

Thanks for the speedy reply. Unfortunately some of his financial minions are still showing the dimensions in their Excel 2003 installs. I'll have to find time to go through the Excel installs with the functionality required, and document every setting. Might be something to do with backward compatibility options
