Bad Motherboard?:-( ?? 1

I am working on my brothers computer. I am not sure who made the motherboard its a socket 7 with a AMIBIOS 586 (J100940)BIOS. It will not get past the POST test.&nbsp;&nbsp;No video.&nbsp;&nbsp;It appears to check the floppy drive(Which is good) and then beeps.&nbsp;&nbsp;Steady&nbsp;&nbsp;short beeps. I think this is general failure.&nbsp;&nbsp;If I remove the floppy. It will give 8 short beeps.&nbsp;&nbsp;I think that is Display memory Read/Write test failure.&nbsp;&nbsp;I am pretty sure the video card is good.&nbsp;&nbsp;I am wondering if it could be the board not able to read or write to what ever its checking.&nbsp;&nbsp;I am a beginner at this so any ideas as to what I could do to test this further or what to do next would be appreciated.&nbsp;&nbsp;I have checked memory to see if it is plugged in good along with everything else.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Thanks<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ygg

Video error is usually a long and 3 short beeps. If you are making it to the floppy seek, then it should be past the memory check.<br>Reboot after each of these steps:<br>1.Make sure all the cards, memory, cables and CPU are seated properly. <br>2.Disconnect the power and ribbon cables from all peripherals. If it boots, reconnect them one by one.<br>3.Remove all add-on cards except video card. If it boots, reinsert them one by one.<br>4.Remove the video card, listen for the beeps mentioned above. If they remain the same, go to 5.<br>5.Remove the memory. If the sound changes, (sometimes a low droning sound) then this is your problem. If it stays the same, go to 6.<br>6.Remove the CPU.
