Bad block when mirroring a windows 2000 server

Is there anyway of mirroring a hard drive which is reported by microsoft with having a bad block.

I have run chkdsk /r and received no errors, but when i try to establish a mirror in diskmanagement the operation aborts because of a I/O error.

any ideas guys?
