Hello All,
I am setting up a backup system with BackupExec to backup an Exchange server (~100GB of data) and a file server (~200GB of data). We have purchased 1TB external USB hard drives as the backup media. I am running Full backup followed by differential on the file server with no problem. I would like to do the same on the Exchange server. I have not done a backup/restore on an Exchange server before with full database backup followed by transaction logs only. Is this a viable method or a best practice? Any insight on this backup method would be greatly appreciated.
My concern is having a system that my client can easily use and is automated. With both backups, we would need to overwrite the media every week or so if we were doing full backups only.
Thanks in advance for your input.
