We recently upgraded our GroupWise server from GroupWise 5.5 Sp4/NetWare
4.11 Sp9 to GroupWise 6.5 sp1b/NetWare 6 Sp3. The GroupWise server also
has an Adaptec 2100S RAID controller, performing RAID1 on the two drives
that house our sys1 volume (which contains our domain and post office) and
acting as a controller for the drive that contains our sys volume. The
GroupWise Server is acting as a remote server to our Media server, a
NetWare 6 sp3 file server with a dell ultrium 1 LTO tape drive running
BackupExec 9.0, revision 4202.

When using GWTSA to backup the GroupWise system, the backup will get about
6gb into the PO when the GroupWise server will 'crash' there is no abend,
just a message in the timesync debug screen that says:

NWCCSetCurentConnection failed ccode = A
unable to open connection to server error code 8904

our backup jobs say:

Could not connect to CONTROLLER_GWISE.GroupWise System:. The login crede-
ntials may be incorrect. All selections for this device will be skipped.

Could not attach to dataserver CONTROLLER_GWISE. Selections for CONTROLL-
ER_GWISE.NetWare File System: will be skipped.
Could not attach to dataserver CONTROLLER_GWISE. Selections for CONTROLL-
ER_GWISE.Novell Directory: will be skipped.

at that point the GroupWise server will display 'unable to communicate
with server' on the prompt until it is rebooted.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time,
