In SQL 2000, is their a way to backup and restore individual tables rather than the whole database?

No! Unfortunately not with native SQL backup.

We do the following to restore one table.

1- Restore the database to a different database. We usually name the other database "DBName_Restore."
2- After restoring to DBName_Restore, we copy DBName_Restore.table to DBName.table. Terry
