Hi

I presume the backup wizard in SBS premium can cope with SQL. i.e. stop the services and backup the files???

A customer didnt want to pay for a separate backup utility
and now NT backup reports it cannot open a whole load of SQL related files because they are currently in use.

Can it back up SQL?

You are doing it incorrectly. Within SQL enterprise manager there is a SQL backup that will handle creating backups of the SQL databases. You then use NTBackup to backup those SQL backup files and exclude from backup the live data.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Thanks Mark,

I was aware of that option but thought maybe SBS could do it all automatically.
