I am a novice when it comes to tape backups so...

I have a Windows 2003 server, ARCserv 11.1 and a Quantum Superloader with two magzines which hold 8 DLT tapes each. At the moment I am backing up a third of the HD to each of 3 tapes which I label individually. In otherwords, I currently have 15 different backup jobs scheduled. i.e. 3 Mondays, 3 Tuesdays... All the tapes reside in a Group 0. Is there a way that I can set up these 3 tapes to backup the whole server with one job. i.e. once one tape is full it moves to the next tape in the group, etc. Our company likes to do full backups Monday to Thursday, then we do Friday 1,2,3, & 4 and then Months 1,2,etc.

TIA - yooper46

Simply select all the data you want to backup in the backup source (presumably the whole machine).

Then select a Mon-Fri Full Backup from the rotation tab when you set up the new job, and then submit it.

The built in single drive library support will handle the spanning of the tapes for you when it needs a new tape. If you have more than one drive in the library (don't think that one has) then you will need to install and purchase a licence for the tape library option.

Thank you. I will try this and see how it goes.
