Backup to tape from NAS

Using Backup Exec 12.5 all latest patches etc and an LTO2 directly attached to the Media Server.
Running Windows 2008 x64 (not R2) on a 2008 SQL Express database.

Looking at getting a NAS, probably either Netgear or QNAP.
QNAP doesn't have the RALUS agent for x64, but Netgear does.

So
a) Use iSCSI to attach the NAS as a physical drive on one of the servers, share the drive and backup from there?
Or
b) Setup NAS with CIFS and create an NTFS symbolic link to a parent folder and backup from there?

Or any other suggestions?
