Backup to LaCie ethernet drive

Backing up Dell PowerEdge server to ethernet attached LaCie hard drive.
Too frequently the backup fails as the Lacie is not found.
Must disable and re-enable (within the software) and the scheduled backup kicks off immediately.
Any thoughts .....
