Backup to disk folders

Since having to re-install VBE 9.0 I've been having all sorts of problems that I didn't before. After setting up Backup to disk folders and media sets the jobs keep failing at test with the media capacity check. Not being in any way very knowledgable about VBE can anyone advice me on the correct parameters I should be setting for the following jobs?
Weekly full backup approx. 12GB to folder A with overwrite protection for 6 days and append of 1 week.
Daily differential approx. 2GB to folder B with o/w protection of 4 days and append of 1 week.
I've got about 50GB free on HDD and would copy .bkf's to tape nightly anyway. Any advice gratefully received, thanks.

If this is a new installation, and you are only failing on the test run on media capacity check, I would worry - just run the job anyway - backup exec needs to figure out the size of the media after a few backups and then it should report something better.

Thanks for your advice Justin2000, but wouldn't the job fall over or doesn't the job involve a capacity check. Please excuse my ignorance but this is new software to me.
I wouldn't be backing up to disk if the Travan hadn't packed up on me, got to install a new HP DAT24i this weekend, but need to back up before then obviously.

not at all, there is a capacity check done during the normal backup, it just writes to the device until it fills, then complains it wants more.

don't worry too much about it, run the backup and it should work OK.
