Hello

I have a relitively small database within SQL 2000

I would like to take a copy of this database and reattach it in MS Access

The person I am passing it onto is external to our business so can't access the database and does not have SQL Server

Access doesn't seem to recognose the file when I use a backup and import method

Any thoughts?

That won't work. You will need to move the data over with DTS or something else. Also, they client could get a copy of MSDE which is a free chopped down version of SQL Server 2000.

Nope, you are talking about 2 different databases and file types. I know the extentions are the same(.mdf), buy they are very very differnt.
