What is a good but inexpensive backup software? I have been using Windows but would like something more flexible.

I'm not sure what you're thinking your missing in Windows Backup. I find Windows backup very flexible. Especially when you script it.

Outside of that, there are many products you can use, but the ones that support the advanced features you need (Shadow Copy, Exchange) are all going to be expensive - $400+ and you may need additional "agents" that cost extra.

Perhaps you should indicate what problems you are having with the built in backup and we can help you with those.

You might try Backup In Time at It runs $19.00 and allows you to select your files or directories and then password protect the compressed backup file. It also allows you to put the backup on a FTP server and encrypt the file before putting on the FTP server for added security.

Does backupintime support System State and the Exchange Information Store? I haven't looked at it, but I doubt it.

No it does not. It is more intended for backing up your data directories and files such as accounting and such.

Thanks,
Gil

An excellent backup to disk solution which is managed off site is BobtheBackup.com

Once a full backup has occured, there is a biniary mode which only backs up the file changes each night or when ever you set the automated backups.

This is an offsite solution too which you could use as disaster recovery

dberg35, u c there are thousand of backup utilities and, the right desicion depends on ur needs.
Why do u need that?
Are u looking backup software for Server/workstation ur u just want to backup some important files at home ?
