Hi,

I’ve been using for a long time the HP COLORADO backup system, which works with the Colorado Software and includes a Drive and discs to backup data on to. Today this system just doesn’t work properly anymore, it’s defective and it can take up to 30 minutes to backup 4-10 Megs of data. What I’m looking for is a system that will monitor specific directories on my drive and that will run at the end of every week day and backup only the files that have been modified or created in those directories since the last backup (the day before). The files are consisted mainly of Word and excel documents, this clearly indicates that I don’t need massive storage, there are no system files. I’m very interested in using the backup software included with WINXP, the only downside is that the software won’t allow backups onto CD-ROM, in this case I need some kind of storage device other than CD’s that can store data onto discs. I say discs in case my computer gets stolen, this way I can recover the data even if the device is stolen along with the PC. I don’t know if it’s the preferred way to go, so if it’s possible I’d like your opinion on what storage medium best fits my situation.

Thank you very much for any help you can offer me.
Capo
