Hi, I have a printserver sharing about 15 printers. I want to add a secondary printserver that will replace the primary server if it fails. How can this be done since all printers are being shared from the ports on the primary server ?
Thanks alot

If you are printing over ip, you can create the same ports on the other print server and create the printers on the server. Just don't publish the secondary printers to AD.

You can also create an image of your print server and use it to restore the queues, shares, drivers, etc. A couple of months ago, I needed to reload the server that all of my printers were on, so I made an image of the print server and restored it after I had the server reloaded. This article talks about how to do it and where to get it.

Hey,

You don't have the working link for the article by any chance? I've had a hunt in the MS KB but thats as useful as a bicycle for a fish.

Cheers,
