Backup of multiple NetWare servers

I have recently installed the NetBackup Client on a NetWare 6.5 server, and using the Target method I've created targets and edited the policy accordingly. Backups seem to work fine, and they muliplex just like intended.
However, it dawns on me that if I'm going to backup mulitple NetWare servers I'll run into a bit of a problem.

Using the target configuration on the NetWare console, I created one target for each volume, like:
Vol Target
SYS: -> SYS
USR: -> USR
FOO: -> FOO
etc

Now, if I have another client with volumes like:
Vol Target
SYS: -> SYS
BAR: -> BAR

How can I use the same policy for both NetWare servers? As far as I can tell I can only use one selection list in a policy, and since I don't have the same targets in two (or more) clients, how will this work?

I don't particularly want to configure a generic name for the targets (FOO: -> GENERIC, BAR: -> GENERIC).

I really don't fancy configuring one policy per NetWare client.

Why don't you just configure your targets to back up the whole server. That's what I do. I just name my targets SERVER and choose Netware Server for the file selection on all NW 6.5 servers and then use one policy to back them all up

Because I won't be able to multiplex a client, ie pull several targets from one server in parallel.
Perhaps that's what I'll do in the end, and hope I can multiplex several clients instead.

We have configured all our netware clients with the same TARGET names. The TARGET name does not have to point to the same directories on each server since that is set individually on each server. The TARGET name must simply be the same so that you can use one policy for all of the servers. Hope this helps.

It does, it's what I've done as well although I configured the names SERVER for all file systems and DIR for the directory. Maybe the DIR target isn't necessary, but better safe than sorry. It's not an awful lot of data.

It works, but I find the performance a bit lacking. I backup over a gigabit LAN. The NetWare servers are connected to SAN, which I can get decent performance from in Windows at least.

A full backup gives me about 7.5 MB/s, and I always thought NetWare would be able to pump more bandwidth than that. That's why I'd like to investigate in having seperate targets for each volume, and thus be able to backup maybe 4 volumes in parallel.
