Hello Everyone:

Ever since we upgraded to Windows 2003 server, our backups both on file server and exchange server complete with exceptions. Same 9 files (example: qmgr0.dat & qmgr1.dat)are skipped over and over again. I tried to set the security to allow administrator and backup to have full control of the files, but it didn't work. Any ideas?

These files are in use during the backup and cannot be backed up.

They are the files used by Microsoft Update.

You can do a few things here.

1. Use the Advanced Open File Option.
2. Exclude these files from the backup
3. Turn off MS update.

See this page at Veritas for the Correct Solution [tm]:

"The error :"Unable to open the item C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINNT\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\Qmgr0.dat - skipped" is returned in the job log of a backup that was completed while the Background Intelligent Transfer Service is running on a Windows system."

HTH ...
