Backup Information Store Exchange 2000 1

After checking my daily reports under the backup utility, I notice that none of my exchange databases are being backed up. This is the type of output I am receiving:

Warning: Unable to open the file \Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\E00.log - skipped.
Warning: Unable to open the file \Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\priv1.edb - skipped.
Warning: Unable to open the file \Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\priv1.stm - skipped.
Warning: Unable to open the file \Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\pub1.edb - skipped.

And etc.

I thought that you could backup the information store even during use, or so I read. Any suggestions?

What backup software are you running?

I'm Certifiable, not certified.

I'm using the standard ntbackup.

Have you followed these instructions:

When you do, you skip the files you mention above in the file level backup as the Exchange backup option will get them.
