I have a single W2K NB4.5 backup job that contains two full backup schedules.
One called WEEKLY, with a start window on Sunday and frequency of 3 days (to ensure it runs every Sunday at least 3 days after the last one, ie. once per week), the other called MONTHLY with a start window on Friday and a frequency of 27 days (to ensure that it only runs on Friday 27 days after the last one, ie. once per month). Each has a different retention period.
If I have a successful MONTHLY job run on Friday, will the WEEKLY job run after it on the Sunday? Or will the Sunday WEEKLY job pick up that the MONTHLY job ran less than 3 days ago, and not run?
Does a schedule's frequency only apply to previous backups for that particular schedule (ie. do WEEKLY backups only check to see when the last WEEKLY backup ran) or does it apply to all schedules within that backup job (ie. will the WEEKLY backup check to see when the last WEEKLY *or* MONTHLY backup ran)? I have a situation where WEEKLY jobs don't/won't run following a MONTHLY job, and this would help me understand why...
Thanks
Mike
