For some reason I had to install iAS 9.0.4, not newer version. I put infrastructure (INFRA) and mid tier (MID_TIER) on same machine. Because of names Oracle Services start order seems OK (infra services first, mid_tier services after infra as sugested in Oracle documentation).
After install I made backup of both instances with dcmctl saveinstance -dir <Directory>.
Now I have saved instance of INFRA (dcmctl started from appropriate INFRA bin directory) and instance MID_TIER (dcmctl started from appropriate MID_TIER bin directory).
Is there something more I should do for backup?
This iAS can't survive server reboot without restoring instances and messing up with EM (OK some scripts could help automate this).
Yesterday I found iAS without EM (no web page) available, after I restored INFRA instance with some errors, I got EM but lost functionality of MID_TIER (even worse situation, users couldn't use application). This time I couldn't restore MID_TIER from backup instance (dcmctl restore instance) as one time before when service personel simply rebooted server during UPS maintance.
dcmctl restoreinstance was reporting errors yesterday both for INFRA and MID_TIER, but seems revived EM.
Same backup instances was used for restore as before.
As there was not enough time to investigate various java cryptic messages after two hours, yesterday evening I reinstalled iAS with all settings (it took another 2-3 hours, but et least I know how much time it takes).
Now I am concerned about this happening again.
I am also afraid of situation that somebody for any reason reboot server (UPS problem, datacentar maintenance etc.).
I had some experience with 9.0.2 (had some modified scripts for startup and shutdown), but with this 9.0.4 I generaly can't restore iAS after reboot without EM messing, restoring instances etc. and even this didn't help yesterday despite no known EM changes after making dcmtl save instance(s). I could even start it all again from EM (all components up several times) yesterday, but couldn't run even test.fmx
Any suggestions?
Should I made disk images, but this involves reboot
