Greetings All:
Recently I've been getting wierd "backup failed" results from the BrightStor ARCserve Backup Version 9.0 (Build 1868) software running on my Windows NT4.0 server box.
What I'm trying to backup is my D drive with its 31.0 GB of data onto a FujiFilm DLTtape IV cartridge with 35/70GB capacity (35GB uncompressed, 70GB compressed). The tape drive used is Compaq 35/70GB DLT DRV (Firmware version 2561) running on a SCSI-II bus. But the backup job each time ends up in failure, and the logs is as follows:

What I find most bewildering is the lack of WHY the backup has failed, in fact, there's no error messages of any kind displayed in the logs, only 20 or so warning messages about files skipped. But the backup simply stops after picking up 7GB or so data, and there's an overall error count before the job finishes.
I suspect that it maybe due to defective tapes, but I've changed a series of tapes and each one gives back the same error, so I'm no longer sure whether if it's just the tapes. I'm also suspecting of a cap in Arcserve that I'd have to adjust before it will pick up >7GB of data, but I'm not sure.
In any case, help would be greatly appreciated. I'm also aware that this may not be the past place to post such a message. If you can recommend any better newsgroups I'm also keeping my ears open.
