I have a server, Windows 2003, attached to a Sony AIT tape unit. The backup failed over the weekend because someone had flicked the switch on the tape to be write protected. Today I checked the backup status to find that the nights following the backup failure also failed showing the error "Not enough licenses "Single Drive for Windows/Netware/Linux". Session is waiting for some of the devices to get free""

I've noticed that the errors in HPDP sometimes are a bit cryptic and don't necessarily mean what they say.

The licenses are definitely there, and backups work most of the time. Are these failures a result of the initial failure? Or is there another issue I need to look at?

Thanks

Check the monitor screen to make sure an old job isn't stuck and holding the license. If you're still getting the message, it may be worth restarting the DP services.
