Although not many of you run this, I would like to know why BE 8.6 has log errors of unable to backup, when the items in question have been added to the exclusion list? Isn't this software smart enough to follow it's own rules? See my examples below:

Media Name: "Media created 4/30/2003 10:30:13 PM"
Backup of "EPD-01.Novell Directory/EPD/.EPD.: "
Backup set #6 on storage media #1
Backup set description: "DAILY FULL BACKUP"
Backup Type: FULL - Back Up Files - Reset Archive Bit
Backup started on 5/1/2003 at 1:51:19 AM.

Backup completed on 5/1/2003 at 1:51:27 AM.
Backed up 273 files in 31 directories.
Processed 777,396 bytes in 8 seconds.
Throughput rate: 5.6 MB/min
-----------------------------------------------------------

All of these files were included on the exclude list, but it still tried to back them up, WHY?

The file save finishes fine, but the log says it filed. My manual verification indicates everything else is fine...

Looking for answers...

I had this same issue, and If I remember what I got from our support inquiry, is that Veritas cannot backup the licenses from novell. If you had to restore them into the tree again, you would have to "reinstall them"

The only way to get around this error is to deselect the license files that are listed from the backup selections.

Not really a fix... but it stops the error.
