I had Veritas Server 9.1 backing up my file server (Veritas Server was on the server). I did a full backup everyday. I know I have good backup tapes (I have done test restores).

Today, My server crashed and my Raid failed. I have a new file server with Windows 2000 on it. What exactly do I do to restore my files from my backup tape to my new Server?

I assume I need to reinstall Backup Exec and then restore the files somehow? Can anyone provide simple directions? Obvious, time is of the essence and I need simple directions to do this task.
Any help would be great!!!

You don't say whether you are using a tape library or a single tape device.

Install Backup Exec.
-Library, inventory the tapes, then catalog the tapes.
-single tape device, insert the tape, inventory and then catalog it.

Go to the Restore tab and find the tape you want to restore.

That should be all you need to do.
