Backup Exec and Arcserve Agents on same machine?

We have a project in queue where we will have to install Backup Exec to perform a restore. We are currently running Arcserve9 and will be loading Backup Exec 8.5.

We are planning on installing the Backup Exec software on a separate machine than the Arcserve version, but were wondering if we'd run into problems having both the Arcserve Agent and Backup Exec agent loaded on the SQL server at the same time.

Any thoughts?

HI,
You might run into problems with the tape device functions
Stop all ARCServe services when using Veritas.

make sure Veritas takes control of the tape device before performing the restore..

I'd like to add just a little more.

Set all the services for both applications to manual for the startup.

Next when going to BE enable the tape drives and the library in Windows Device Manager and restart. When going to AS disable all those devices and restart.

BE = drivers yes
AS = drivers no
