I am needing to free up some space on our Win NT 4.0 server. I notice that the catalogs folder in Backup Exec takes up a gigabyte of space. these files date back to 2000. Can I delete some of these files? The tapes that the files correspond to have been written over numerous times. I am not that familiar with what these files are used for. Thanks for your help.

First, purge any temp files.

Then, if you can move the catalogs to another drive/partition, try that instead. Also set the option in Backup Exec to delete catalogs after x amount of days.

If you absolutely need the space now, go ahead and delete them, I just prefer to let the program do it automatically.
