Backup Error in Event log

I am getting this error when I try to do a backup on my Windows NT server 4 using backup exec 8.6. Is it because the tape may be defective?

The description for Event ID ( 7 ) in Source ( tratapi-VRTS ) could not be found. It contains the following insertion string(s): \Device\Tape0.
