Backup and Restore Problems

Why is it that every time I attempt to restore a tape of data created using the NTserver backup utility on my NT server, W2k backup utility does not allow me to choose the files I want to restore. In other words I am transferring data from my old ntserver to my new w2k server and although the tape is recognised, I am not allowed to do anything with it. Any Ideas?
