backing up using SQL with exchange 6.5

We were still having problems with ARCserve backing up the brick level of exchange.(referance my other post in this forum) After talking many many hours with CA, and trying all the suggestions on the board here posted by users, (thanks guys) we opted to uninstall ARCserve on the exchange server and reinstall it. We also wanted to try to use the SQL database option. When I go thru the set up (tried both full and selective setups) I get to the SQL database selection and it just points to the Exchange server itself and will not let me redirect it to the seperate SQL server I have. is this possible to do in Version 6.5? or am I just working on another ulcer?
