Backing up SUSE Linux

I am using Backup Exec 11d on a Windows 2000 server. I am backing up several Suse Linux mail servers. I had an issue with the backup job not backing up all the data. It shows the the job completed successfully, but when I looked at the media size only about half the data was there. Any suggestions as to why this may have happened.
