I am using AS 2000 sp/3 on a Win 2K w/sp3 server for our enterprise. Installing the SQL agent on SQL servers inside the firewall works fine. After installing and patching the client agent, AS 2000 displays the SQL databases for that server in the client agent list under the servers drive letters. Servers that are outside our firewall are another matter. I follow the same procedure, install the SQL agent and then patch it, but the SQL DB's are not listed when I connect to that server throught the AS 2000 client agent. I have tried a couple of things: uninstalling the SQL agent and re-installing with "named pipes" option checked and listing the servers outside the firewall in the AS 2000 servers "Host" file. Nothing has worked so far. Any tips, suggestions or help would be appreciated. Please don't tell me to dump the DB's to another server and back them from up there, that is not an option. Thanks in advance!!!

Hi,

I believe you have problem only when it is outside the
firewall..

Enable the tcp ports 6070,6060,41523,41524 and 1433

Check it out...

Thanks,
