Currently running Exchange 2000 SP3 on a Windows 2000 server SP4. I am running Backup Exec 8.6 and do a nightly full backup and 3 incrementals during the day. I run a data base backup (IS Store) and a mailbox brick level back.
My question is with regards to Public Folder backups. Until now, we have only backed up the PF as a whole. A few days ago a user deleted a reoccurring appointment and wanted it back in a PF Calendar. The problem is I did not want to restore ALL the PF's back to my last backup. So I came up with a plan to backup individual PF's to .pst files on a weekly basis.
Is this the best approach to backing up individual PF's or is there another way? I would also be interested to know if anyone has found a way to automate the export of PF's to .pst files.
Thanks for all sugestions.
