I am trying to backup my mitel programming using FTP. I have use Procomm, Putty, and Telenet, i keep getting the same error. It starts the process, goes all the was pass step seven and the gives me an "FTP connection failure" message. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Are you running a local ftp server? I usually use guildftp or filezilla. You need to make sure the settings in form 47 reflect you setup.

And watch out for firewalls.
Also make sure that the user name configured has access rights to the directory it is trying to put the backup in.

Yes, its a SX-200 Mx controller, using 5.0.0.18. I have setup Guildftp. Assigned my ip on my laptop as the ip that is for the ftp server from form 47. Use a serial cable to connect to the system via Procomm. My kermit backup works fine, but the ftp always fail at the end. When i change the user name in form 47 to reflect what i created in guildftp, i can get pass step 1 from the ftp process. As of right now its working when i have the name as anonymous, but i am not albe to save the file. Firewalls are turn of, using windows 98.Somewhere i am having a problem... Any ideas?

Thanks for all the help.

Open a command prompt and ftp to your own address
Try and create a file
I suspect you will fail

Recently, I've been having issues because Norton added a "Smart Firewall" to their protection package. Screw that shit.

With Guild I usually setup a user ftp with password ftp, then make sure that the path has all attributes. Make changes in the ICP form and start the backup. You may not be able to write as default would be read and list only.

Write must be enabled to be able to transfer the file though.
