Hello,
Has anyone used Backup Exec v9.1 on a different server in a Windows 2003 AD domain to backup Exchange 2003 running on a seperate box.

In the past I have only been able to backup reliably and easily when the tape drive is in the same machine running Backup Exec with the agent installed.

Thoughts?

Just install the remote agent on the remote exchange server. Install your exchange agent serial numbers on the backup exec server. Create a mailbox on the exchange server with same name and display name as the backup exec servics. Thats it. backup the server remotely

Hello,
I guess this is improved in version 9.1... in 8.6 and 9.0 this was a chore and I could never connect to the mailboxes... and they made me install outlook 2000...

Installing outlook is not required. Just make sure how ever you BE services are starting grant that user full control to exchange and send/recieve rights on the mailbox/public folders. Create the mailbox and it must be visible in Global address list.
