Backing up, and restoring to a different 2k machine

I backed up, to a 4mm DDS tape, a few directories and files (250Mb approx) from one 2k machine. Now, I am trying to restore these files to a different 2k system. But every time I run NTBackup, it sees the tape as “Unrecognized”. Both systems have the same OS, and both of them backup to 4mm DDS tape drives.

Could you help me? What do I need to restore this data to a different system? Is it even possible?
