A client of mine wants me to set up a back up system for her and two other users who are networked together in a workgroup (three workstations). They want to be able to back up nightly. I know I just need to back up the important files (e.g. My Documents, etc...) and not the system files. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I should do this? I want to know which media is best to use, and what software I should use. There is not a whole lot of data I will need to back up.

Thank You

Hi

Lots of ways of doing this but, for what you are wanting to do then look around at all the freeware backup solutions.

You could also just use the backup utility within Windows for this and back them up to a network location (one of the workstations).

If you don't want to bother with tape then maybe you could look at getting a USB drive (cheap on ebay) and attach it to one of the workstations as you don't say if you have a central server within your network that you could use (which would be best).

I wouldn't store the backups on the workstation itself in case the hard drive goes.

Cheap and simple ;-)
