Hi,

i am using networker 5.5.1 on aix 4.3.2 as a server which is running four NT clients.

as per my configurations MEdia pool shows that NTgroup is in pool "GE all purpose pool" created by me. and it is suppose to fetch the volumes from that pool only like the other groups do.

but while starting NT group it tries to fetch the volumes from DEFAULT pool. i am not sure what do next. i hav checked and compared the configuratoion with other groups but ......

Please gimee some ideas....

thanks

you have to attach the savegroup to a defined pool.
if it is not attached to a pool it will use the default pool.

Beware: you can only do this when there is absolutely no activity on legato(backups or cloning)

maybe "GE all purpose pool" has been configured only for selcetvie level backups like full backup or something and you are trying to back up with some incremental or something that has not be specified in the pool. go to the specified pool and check on the options of the level of backups for the pool

Cheers

ALso, have you defined which devices the poll can use and what groups are to use that pool? I know I have been caught out on this before.
