Hello,
I run a diff b2d every day and Full at weekend, then backup the file to tape, the problem is that the b2d file is overwrited but keeps the same label ,so the catalog refers to the same b2d file , is there a way to create a diferent b2d label every day and delete/erase the day before? i cant keep the b2d file due to disk space.
Thanks in advance,

André

When backing up to disk you should DUPLICATE the backup to tape - if you just run a normal backup to tape for those .bkf files your catalogs will not reflect the data that is contained within the .bkf files. This means that to do a restore you have to first restor the .bkf files from tape & then run another restore on the .bkf files to retrieve your data.

If you use duplicate you can restore your files directly from tape & you can also expire the .bkf files once the duplicate has finished.

Hope i havent confused you.

:)
